Summer Youth Writing Camps
The Summer Youth Writing Camps are for students who LOVE WRITING and are eager to try to their hand at new types of writing. Students of all skill levels are invited to attend, but participants and parents should be aware that this is not an accelerated writing program, nor is it a remedial program. A passion or interest in writing is the main requirement!
Our emphasis is on creating life-long writers who feel confident and comfortable with all the steps of the writing process. Instructors at the Summer Youth Writing Camp are Southern Nevada Writing Project Teacher Consultants who are selected because of their expertise and passion for teaching writing.
The 2013 Summer Youth Writing Camp will be held from June 17-28. Students entering grades 1-6 can choose between two locations, Schorr Elementary School, and Simmons Elementary School. Spring Valley High School will host students entering grades 7-12 for their summer camp.
