What are the SNWP Writing Fairs? The Writing Fair provides a day designated to the celebration of writing, illustrating, and sharing. Talented and experienced writing teachers (Southern Nevada Writing Project Fellows) lead small, grade-level groups in activities that help students learn the creative process of gathering and developing ideas, composing and drafting, and revising and responding to the writing of others. Finally students revise, edit, and publish their written pieces in the SNWP Writing Fair Anthology. These fairs provide a time for students from all areas of the county to come together and celebrate their differences through their words and their art.

When and where are the writing fairs held? All three of the writing fairs are held in the very late winter or early spring on a Saturday at a local CCSD school.

What is the overall goal of the SNWP Writing Fairs? The overall goal for all Writing Fairs is to provide a day for young writers to come together to write, draw and share their work with others. SNWP provides a risk-free environment for all levels of writers to enjoy the creative process, as they develop skill and confidence as writers.

Who makes a good candidate for attending the writing fairs? Although writing levels are not important, students who enjoy writing and sharing their ideas with others will benefit most from this experience. This day is designed for those "blossoming young writers" to take their writing to the next step by conferring with peers, revising, editing and publishing their work.
